World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already have. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stat and give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is among the main factors that keep Link safe from harm in most situations. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in various ways to improve its defence capabilities.

However, based on the style you play, certain specific items are more beneficial than others. The same goes for Armour, with some reforges being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item. If an upgrade project has been cancelled, no more upgrades will be offered for the item. Magic items that are upgraded will cost twice the amount of gold they normally cost to make or purchase however they may provide additional benefits.
A magical item could be any item that has special properties or effects. These are typically weapons, but they could also be armors, shields, cloaks and potions. They can also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Some of these items may be made to speak.
Many magic items can have their abilities enhanced. This can make them more useful to a player, or it could help them conquer an especially difficult challenge. A weapon that is infused with a special substance might, for instance, provide additional damage against a specific enemy type. Certain items with enchanted properties have special powers that allow the character to cast spells in addition to those listed on their class's spell list. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other enchanted objects might allow the character's appearance be changed or create a completely new one. These are particularly beneficial for those who have had to leave their homes, or who are in a location that they aren't welcome. An enchanted item might grant them an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone but a select few.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment that do not fit into the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and have various capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, as opposed to Armor or Weapons. Most utility items provide an effect that a player can activate by using them, but some have additional abilities that are triggered when the user presses the button or activates an ability.
The Flashlight is the most common utility item. It lights up the surrounding area. Other utility items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows him to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly manufactured in the Engineering section while others can be unlocked through research projects or projects at the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items are upgradeable to increase their effectiveness.
The majority of utilitarian items give players an advantage in navigation or boost a specific combat ability. For example, Sharpening stones made by the Weaponsmith increase Ferocity and Power and Maintenance Oils made by the Huntsman boost the concentration and healing power. All XCOM soldiers can equip a useful item at the beginning of the campaign. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows the player to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade can be placed in the main grenade slot.
